The Committee to Elect Damian Anketell, Sheriff for Essex County is looking for volunteers.

No matter how old you are, it's easy to be a political volunteer. Political parties and political campaigns always welcome women, men and young people who want to be involved. Successful political campaigns run on volunteer power. Opportunities exist in voter identification, telephone banks, polling and research, logistics, public relations, fundraising, and administration. Would you enjoy:

• Talking with people about the candidate;
• Scheduling the candidate's time;
• Conducting research on important current issues;
• Writing press releases and contacting media outlets;
• Helping hold events to raise money for the campaign
• Manning phone banks, mailings, data entry, and signature gathering?

These are just a few of the ways you can be a political volunteer. Opportunities are available at all levels. Assess your talents and offer your time to our candidate. Your help will have a valuable impact on a successful campaign. If you can help out by becoming a volunteer please contact Melanie at                                          or call us at 978-335-7897.

Damian poses with supporter and campaign volunteer Connie Benedetto of  Lynn.  Connie has been an active member of the community and we are happy and excited to welcome her as a part of Team Anketell.

Thanks to you we have exceeded our goal and collected over 1600 signatures.

On May 19, 2010 the Secretary of the State officially certified me to be on the ballot as a Democratic Candidate for Sheriff of Essex County.

I want to take this time to thank all the volunteers and citizens who made our nomination signatures campaign a success.  I thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the hundreds of voters and got a lot of feedback regarding what the people of this county want to see changed in the Sheriff's Department.  With this accomplished, we will now focus on continuing to get our message out to the public. We are planning more fund raisers, food drives, and ID printing events.  We will also be participating in many community activities in the coming months.  We still have a lot of work to do and I will be counting on the volunteers and voters to help continue our success right through the election and into the Sheriff's Office.

Sincerely yours,

Damian Anketell
